The average flat split or roping reins are generally 5/8" wide, so this 5/8" bottom snap should fit nice and snug. Attaching the swivel snaps to the bit end of your reins makes it easy to remove your reins from the bit if you need to while you are out trail riding. It also makes for a quick change if you are using different reins on your bridle, or changing out your bit.
